Khloe & Lamar Season 2
(2 Disc Set)
Running almost parallel with Kourtney & Kim Take on New York,
those Kardashian money makers continue their success with Khloe & Lamar.
Unlike the chaos unleashed by Kourtney and Kim, Khloe Kardashian and her
basketball star husband Lamar, are a much more grounded pair. It's
actually refreshing to see a Kardashian that is not so bitchy!
However the fame of Kourtney has definitely rubbed off on Khloe who has
almost become somewhat of a celebrity in the US, thanks to your reality
TV appearances. This series is more about the love between Khloe and
Lamar which actually seems quite genuine opposed to the faux marriage
between her sister Kim and ex-husband NBA player Kris Humphries.
Add in
Kourtney's best friend Malika, her brother Rob and you have the perfect
cast for another reality TV show thanks to their good looks and
generally bad attitude. As we watch their everyday lives in their
palatial Los Angeles home, things begin to fall apart for Lamar who has
been twiddling his thumbs due to industrial action in the NBA. To make
matters worse, he is traded to Dallas which sparks his downward spiral
into depression.
Khloe
who is trying to the perfect wife tries her best to make the situation
positive but Lamar is stuck in a rut. Not even her brother in-law Robert
can help, although for the most of this season, it focuses on his OCD
and him trying to establish himself in the world... it's very
schadenfreude which roughly translates to enjoying other peoples misery.
Those Germans have a word for everything! As Khloe makes a new friend in
Dallas, her BFF from Los Angeles becomes jealous and the drama of the
Kardashians begins. The only problem I found with Khloe & Lamar was that
the series just ended which was a shame because I was hoping on some
resolution.
Final Thoughts?
In the
end, Khloe & Lamar is a fun series from the brain trust of the
Kardashians that features romance (Khloe & Lamar), drama (is she the
child of her late father?) and comedy (Khloe). Unlike Kourtney & Kim
Take on New York, Khloe seems to be the most grounded Kardashian
there is, unless you call her obsession with candles and sex aids a
little strange.
Definitely one for all lovers of reality TV shows!
