Juno has received international acclaim
and for a movie that cost $6.5 million dollars to make, it was quite
remarkable that it one of the biggest box office hits. Written by
author Diablo Cody who worked in the adult industry and is the
author of the best selling book Candy Girl: A Year in the Life of an
Unlikely Stripper, Diablo has truly created a unique and
entertaining tale.
The story revolves around a 16-year old
tomboy called Juno MacGuff (Ellen Page) who becomes pregnant after
having her sex with her nerdy best friend Paulie Bleeker (Miachel
Cera). Although Juno considers an abortion, she eventually decides
to have the baby, however believes that she can give this child away
and with her father Mac (J.K. Simmons), they search for the perfect
parents. They soon meet Mark (Jason Bateman) and Vanessa Loring
(Jennifer Garner) who seem the like the perfect couple and from here
the comedy begins.
With some great performances from all
involved, Juno is a truly heart warming and entertaining comedy
about common issues and its real world is what makes this comedy so
appealing. Featuring some interesting special features, behind the
scenes and some deleted scenes, Juno on DVD is still an entertaining
watch after seeing it at the movies. Even if you have never seen
Juno, I suggest you rent to buy as this is one of the best movies of
the year.
Lastly, Juno is also features 20th
Century Fox new digital copy media which comes on a second CD and
allows you to copy the movie onto portable media players. Definitely
a brilliant idea for movie goers on the go and the quality is quite
exceptional.
