Igor finally arrives on DVD which is a CGI movie about a
disfigured
individual with a hunchback who has been born into servitude and is
surrounded by mad scientists. For little Igor (John Cusack), he
dreams of greater things and thankfully happens to be a keen inventor
to keep him busy,
however he is forbidden to express his skills due to the tyranny of King Malbert.
For the denizens of this country, life is pretty slim until
one day, a competition for the best invention begins and the prudent
Dr. Schadenfreude and his companion Jaclyn decide to spy on their
competitors for the best invention. When they discover that Igor has
created LIFE, a monster called Eva who believes she is an actress,
it's up to Igor and his friends to set things right and ensure that
she is not taken Schadenfreude.
Igor's sidekick is an immortal
rabbit who is voiced by Steve Buscemi and really steals the show
through joke after joke and joke. Molly Shannon plays Eva who also sets the
scene as does Eddie Izzard as Dr. Schadenfreude. Match that with
a variety of other talents that include John Cleese, Jennifer
Coolidge and Jay Leno, and Igor is a feel good CGI movies that
features action, drama, romance and comedy that children of all ages
will enjoy from its clichés to its stereotypes that is just good old
fashioned fun.
The video quality is quite decent and is reminiscent
of those old cartoons, even dare I say Disney thanks to the
brilliant CGI animation, vibrant colours and sharp images. Presented in Dolby
Digital 5.1, the soundtrack of Igor is perfect from the crystal
clear voices, a great soundtrack and hilarious sound effects that go
hand in hand with the movie.
After you have finished watching the DVD, why not check out the
interesting extras that kids of all ages will enjoy. Definitely a
cute story from start to finish with likeable
characters that ultimately create a great entertainment experience.
