How Not to Live your Life
There's something endearing about British comedy and How Not to Live
your Life is no exception to the rule and stars Don Clark as Don, a
prick of epic proportions. Even though Don is the most obnoxious man
this side of the Office, there is something entertainingly funny
about the situations he gets involved in.
The
series starts with Don waking up next to his boss as he thinks of a
variety of amusing ways of getting out of there fast. Eventually he
decides to stick a post it note to his bosses head (not a good idea). As
he arrives at work believing that everyone likes him and he is
untouchable by having sex with the boss, his boss invites him into her
office and gives him the sack.
Of
course, Don believes that his luck has changed when he receives a phone
call from a lawyer called Mr. Bitchman informing him that his
grandmother has passed away and he is now the heir to her assets.
Arriving at his new home, he soon discovers that his grandmother had a
considerable amount of debts and liked referring to her grandson as
"dickhead" to her friends and acquaintances.
To
compound the situation, his grandmother's carer Eddie (David Armand)
refuses to let go and continues assisting Don with personal and home
care. Deciding to lease one of the rooms to make some money, his luck or
so he believes changes again and an old school acquaintance called Abbey
that he had a crush on in school arrives enquiring about the room. Of
course, Don immediately gives the room to Abby (Sinead Moynihan), only
to discover that she has a stuck up boyfriend called Karl (Finlay
Robertson).
The
star of How Not to Live your Life revolves around the situations that
Don gets involved in and the choices he can make about what to do next.
Whether it's getting school kids drunk, wearing his deceased
grandmothers clothes or continually trying to get into bed with Abby,
How Not to Live your Life is definitely a comedy for those who do not
believe in political correctness. |
