This interesting US documentary called "Garbage Warrior" follows one
man's plight with garbage in a world that has produced more garbage
within the last one hundred years than the entire existence of
mankind itself.
The documentary follows Mike Reynolds whom at times looks like the
wild man from Borneo who has spent a majority of life designing
environmentally sustainable homes in the New Mexico desert. By using
the world's "garbage", he has created sustainable and recyclable
housing that he labels as "Earth Ships" due to their strange
alien-like appearance.
The documentary not only highlights how these dwellings may one day
save mankind from a world of endless rubbish but also focuses on the
flaws of his designs and how one man's attempt to challenge the
status quo and also the legalities of these buildings.
Director Oliver Hodge brilliantly links together a variety of issues
from the world which makes this documentary a social commentary on
the life of modern man. Definitely an interesting piece!
