Donkey Punch
Donkey Punch is disturbing sexual
thriller that revolves around a small group of girls from Britain who
are holidaying at a Mediterranean resort. Unfortunately what begins as
the perfect holiday in paradise is soon about to crumble which catalyst
begins at a night club.
When these girls meet some other individuals at
this night club, all seven decide to continue their alcohol fuelled and
flirtatious partying on board a luxury yacht that happens to be in the
middle of the ocean.
Obviously this has been setup by one of the key
instigators as the group cannot seek assistance. Things go into disarray
when one of the individuals dies in a strange accident and from there,
each of the survivors will soon be fighting for their life.
So where
does the title come into play? Interestingly enough, Donkey Punch refers
to urban myth of orgasmic violence which takes centre stage in this
clever thriller directed by Oliver Blackburn.
At first, viewers would
jump at the opportunity of being one of the members of the group from
the alcohol fuelled sexual tension, however when certain individuals
begin to turn, the titillation turns to fear which is transferred to
the viewer.
The acting, especially from Jaime Winstone and Robert
Boulter is extraordinary as are the other actors and actresses in this
movie which only lend creditability to the entire movie. It’s quite a
dark and a moody sexual thriller that will have you on the edge of your
seat and will leave you reeling from the climatic conclusion. In laymen
terms... Donkey Punch is a true modern mind fuck.
