Curb Your Enthusiasm - The Complete 6th Season

Fun fact number 184, George Constanza was based on the
co-writer of Seinfeld, Larry David and although he left the series, he
stumbled upon his own series that was entitled “Curb Your Enthusiasm”
and almost lasted as long as Seinfeld.
The series revolved around Larry
and an assortment of guest stars who improvised their role on the show
with some hilarious results. This collection features all ten episodes
from season six and focuses on Larry and his wife, Cheryl Hines as they
become embroiled in a variety of politically incorrect situations from
erections from hugging aunts, housing an African-American family after a
natural disaster and rewrapping funeral flowers as romantic flowers.
That’s right and this is only just the surface of this series as we
follow David on a journey of self-loathing and obnoxious behaviour that
is not only cringe worthy but thoroughly entertaining.
Apart from David,
the stars of the series are some of the celebrities that are littered
throughout the series that include Ted Danson, Lucy Lawless, Vivica A. Fox and Richard
Lewis who do some great improvisation as the puppet master leads them on
a hilarious and sometimes humiliating journey.
If you’re offended by
political incorrectness or you’re a do-gooder, than I highly suggest you
stay well away of this series. There are some parallels of Seinfeld in
this series, however it stands quite tall on its own laurels, making this a
hilariously entertaining series from start to finish and the cliff hanger
is to die for.
For a HBO series, the video quality is just “standard” and is presented
in 1.33:1 with Dolby Digital 2.0 which is classic TV quality. It’s a
shame that it’s not presented in HD, however the comedy is more than
enough to carry this show to victory.
This collection also contains a
featurettes about the series which includes interviews with the cast and
crew, a bloopers reel and an engaging featurette entitled
“conversation” which goes into the whacky mind of Larry David himself.
Definitely a series for those that loved Seinfeld or those looking for
something that has not been cut down by politically correctness!
