Starring a plethora of America's best up and coming actors and actresses, Camp Rock the Extended Rock Star Edition is finally available in Australia which is masterfully directed by Matthews Diamond. Once again Disney will unleash the inner rock star within us all as the extremely talented Demi Lovato, Meaghan Jette and Daniel Fathers sing and dance their way to some great musical numbers.

Although the story of Camp Rock is a little clichéd at times, it's the great storytelling experience that makes this so special and it's also half the fun of these modern musicals which not only pays homage to the classics of Hollywood butadds to the musical film genre with a 21st century finesse.

The story itself revolves around Mitchie (Demi Lovato) whose life goes from "boring" cook at Camp Rock to all-star Rockstar, thanks to the efforts of the Jonas Brothers who also star in this entertaining film about music, comedy and good old fashioned fun. At times you will cringe at some of the predictability, however the music will bring you through and you'll be surprised if your feet don't start bopping.

Presented in glorious 16:9 widescreen with Dolby Digital 5.1, this movie is exceptionally impressive both through its visual and audio quality. Of course the 5.1 Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack is best heard through a decent surround setup which should of course be played loud!

Where the Extended Rock Star Edition does shine is through the great special features which includes karaoke, a great "Backstage Disney" featurette, an interesting short documentary about the Jonas Brother and my personal favourite, the "Hasta La Vista" rehearsals which will have fans clamoring for more.

Definitely a first class presentation from Disney for viewers of all ages... although if you're under the age of 18, you might get a bigger kick from it!
