Battlestar Galactica Season 4 Part 2
After a climatic ending
to season three which saw the revelation that Kara Thrace (Katee
Sackhoff) had returned from the dead, part 1 of Season 4 delved more
into the mysteries of the Cylons and thankfully now, viewers can now finally see the
conclusion to "Revelations", the midseason cliff hanger that puts a
darker spin on the mythology.
The stories and characters really shine in
part 2 as Tom Zarek (Richard Hatch), who played original Apollo
in the original series, attempts
to usurp the power of the fleet by igniting a mutiny which is probably
one of the highlights of the season.
As the action started to
dwindle early on the series, Battlestar Galactica has always been full
of intrigue and drama which actually suits the genre perfect. Even for a science
fiction series, the creators continue
to push the boundaries of their stories from their complex plots and
heavy character development which all seem to stem back from the
original pilot.
Unfortunately for those who have never watched the
series, they will feel lost, however for those along for the ride from
the start will be in for another enjoyable ride. The actors have also
finally found their characters and dare I say, this is probably one of
the best acted seasons.
Needless to say
Battlestar Galactica has been a rollercoaster ride and the series finale
"Daybreak" which are several episodes, nicely ties together the series,
although many questions are still left unanswered or obscured for the
viewer. Even so, it's nice to see our favourite characters get their
moment in the sun and who knows, perhaps we will see a movie or
telemovie on the horizon.
