Wow... that's probably the one word that can explain my reaction to
this amazing documentary produced and directed by European
journalists Basil Gelpke and Ray McCormack. Interesting enough,
these two journalists have a vast and different background than each
other and use interviews with academics, scholars and experts in how
mankind's love affair with oil is leading us all to disaster and
dependency.
Showing the history of oil throughout the world and how the
dwindling supplies in the West led to war, the documentary gives its
viewers two bleak outlooks of the future. One without fossil fuel
consumption that uses new technology and is also highly unlikely or
another option, the act of war.
Needless to say Gelpke and McCormack
come full circle in this documentary that not only states that
mankind would find it difficult to sustain humanity without our
current fossil fuel consumption, the DVD is a harsh truth of how
mankind, politics and oil is destroying the world we live in.
Gripping!
