Tom is a cat. Jerry is a mouse. Tom and Jerry are locked in an eternal game of cat and mouse – with often hilarious consequences. Tom and Jerry: Whiskers Away collects 10 action packed instalments from the classic Tom and Jerry cartoon series – transporting the famous pair around the world –still ending up at each others throats! The situations Tom and Jerry find themselves in are not complex, nor are they meant to be, but they are a lot of fun. Kids of all ages will get a kick out of these classics of animation – the speechless Tom and Jerry still managing to have real character thanks to the skill of the great Hannah Barbara animators. Special mention must also go to those composers responsible for the soundtracks of each short, which manage to further the stories despite the absence of dialogue. Episodes featured on Tom and Jerry: Whiskers Away include The Two Mousecateers, Texas Tom, In the Hollywood Bowl and Cruise Cat. Whilst Tom and Jerry might not be as familiar to kids today as the Looney Tunes and Disney stable of characters this collection will hopefully go a long way to endearing them to a whole new generation. Tom and Jerry: is a barebones release, the only special feature included is a very short How to Draw Tom and Jerry featurette, which turns out to be more watch while someone else draws Tom and Jerry really fast than a step by step instructional guide. Also included are trailers for other features including Tom And Jerry: The Movie – where they talk!! BUY IT AT
