With so many people working from home who may have limited space, we were given the opportunity to check out the Desky Dual Mini Stand Desk with all the extras, including a mini cable and 8-port power tray, castor wheels (adds amazing portability), and a monitor arm to clear up space on your desk. It’s basically the perfect minimalist desk that not only keeps things simple and tidy but greatly reduces clutter and offers the best cable management that I’ve seen.
In terms of colour, we chose a classic oak tabletop and a white frame that looks rather striking. As this is one of Desky’s smaller desks, it measures 900 x 500mm, which makes it ideal for just about any place in your home or office (even nooks). Besides their impressive technology that allows you to easily raise or lower the desk with just the touch of a button, it also comes with a child lock and an anti-collision system for additional safety.
From a cost perspective, the base model Desky Dual Mini Sit Stand Desk retails from $855 AUD (September 2024), and ordering the desk is super simple, all done online. Their website allows you to select a range of natural wooden colours such as Burnished Wood or Jarrah Legno for the desk top, or if you prefer, plain white or black. To further customise your desk, you can also select the colour of the frame, which includes matte black, space grey, or white.
Desky “desks” employ a dual motor lifting system with 3-stage telescopic legs with their sit-to-stand technology to ensure flawless, smooth movement (36mm per second – so 65mm in under 10 seconds) and stability with a total lifting capacity of 140kg. The minimum desk height is 60cm, with a maximum height of 125cm, which suits even the tallest person.
When it comes to building the desk – take a deep breath and don’t stress because Desky makes the process as simple as possible. Firstly, the desk is broken into sections, so you open the boxes in order.
To assist, Desky includes a manual, QR codes, and a very helpful video. I used a combination of the manual and the video as the visuals really supported my brain to easily assemble the Desky Dual Mini Sit Stand Desk.
It is also a no-tool assembly kit, which means none of your tools are required; rather, it comes with hex keys to help you assemble the desk with its pre-drilled holes.

The Desky monitor arm is easy to install and frees your desk for more desk top space, including a myriad of display angles and heights for your computer display.

It’s fantastic that Desky offers a whole range of colours to suit your tastes, helping match the desk with your home or office. Whether that’s black legs or white legs with a choice of different desktops, there is a colour combination for everyone.
The Desky Dual Mini Sit Stand Desk is super quiet in operation at just 40dB in motion, and according to the United Kingdom’s Royal National Institute for Deaf People (RNID), this decibel rating is on the same scale as a quiet library. To put some perspective on this, an ordinary spoken conversation is 40dB. Needless to say, this electric standing desk is super quiet.
There have also been numerous studies done about the benefits of standing desks, such as relieving poor posture and preventing neck and back pain. However, a mixture of sitting and standing is the best formula to support your overall health (*). To assist with your movement, the desk even has a sedentary reminder feature.

These benefits include reducing the risk of obesity, type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease, including some cancers. Additionally it addresses poor posture that is generally linked to the neck, shoulder and back from incorrect workspace arrangements, including seating. Compared to sitting, standing can burn up to 50 calories per hour more so as you can see, there is a myriad of health benefits.
The display on the controller is actually OLED, which is quite clear in all different types of lighting. It features programmable heights, 4 presets, child lock prevention, and even Bluetooth connectivity so you can adjust your desk via your smartphone. Another clever feature with the controller is that it supports USB-C fast charging of 18 watts. Alternatively, it can be controlled via the Bluetooth app that is available for both Android (reviewed) and iOS.

All in all, this is seriously one of the best electronic sit-to-stand desks that I’ve seen. Setup is flawless and the quality of the parts is unparalleled. Further, the Desky Dual Mini Sit Stand Desk is backed by a 10-year warranty on all parts to give you some great piece of mind.
