		Claymore 12
		This
is what MANGA is all about and once again Western readers are given the
next instalment of this thought provoking series about the Claymores, a
race of half humans and half Yoma. Although eerie powerful, they are
also shunned by some humans because of their dark taint and if they do
not control this taint, they are forever changed into the dangerous
		monsters known as the Yoma.
After the cliff hanging ending of volume 11 that saw
		many main
characters "dead" and the world of the Claymores irrevocably changed, the
reader is once again reunited into the intricate mythology of the
Claymores and this story is set seven years after the previous volume.
		In the
past novel, there was a devastating battle at Pieta and Clare was
forever lost or was she? This new volume however revolves around a new Claymore called Clarice plus some original cast members
from previous stories. Of course, the series is heavily steeped in
history and we find out the repercussions of the other Claymores, more
specifically Clare and how it has dictated the future of current events.
		Although Clarice
is similar to Clare when she first started, her attitude is different
and she is even more wary than her previous Claymores and thankfully
she has some of the new Claymores to act as a "mentor" for her, more
		specifically Miata and Ray.
Although not as top heavy with action as the
previous instalments, the intrigue has been upped a notch and seeing the
fights is still a joy to read and observe. To match the great story is
the impressive art by Norihiro Yagi who also happens to be the writer
		which is a great match.
You can see that he enjoys drawing these sexy
Claymores, especially Clarice, however all the characters in the book,
Claymore or not are well drawn and really assist in immersing you into
		the story.
Once again, the story finishes with an
		abruptness that will
see you, provided you enjoy the series, rush out and purchase the next
volume of this entertaining series. If you have never read Manga before
and really enjoyed the animated series, you should definitely check out
		the Manga interpretaion! |
