John
Stewart has begun his mission about rebuilding the GLC.
It won't be easy of course since he will have to deal with a severe
mistrust on the Corps itself and from the rest of the universe, not
to mention that he will be the once chosen to train a pretty strange
group of recruits even by their standards and the menace of the
Durlans keeps getting closer.
Well my friends, after this second issue I can certainly say that
this is the best GL title so far. Van Jensen does a great job at
portraying John, much better than any other author on recent times,
John is clearly an intelligent man and Jensen exploits that aspect
of his personality perfectly making him question the nature of the
GLC and explaining to the rookies how to use their rings. There's
even a moment where John calls Fatality "Babe" and I thought "That's
not how John talks" which made me laugh once that they explained the
reason for that.
Plus, this issue had a lot of things going one. The problems inside
the Corps, Fatality dealing with the Durlans, John training the new
recruits, they dealing with the hate of the rest of the universe,
entities developing new problems, etc. It's a pretty satisfying
read.
Chang continues doing his excellent work with vibrant and powerful
pencils. I think this is my favorite artist from the whole line.
Summary, fantastic issue. Van Jensen is quickly becoming one of my
favorites.
