Oliver and Shado try to escape from a whole nation.
Count Vertigo will do everything in his power to stop them. His and
Shado's connection to The Outsiders will be explained and Ollie's
new mission to gain enlightenment will be set. However, on his
search for the secrets of his father, he has put aside Seattle not
knowing that one of The Outsiders is about to take control of it...
Richard Dragon has arrived.
Is it possible to keep improving the quality of a title by each
issue? Lemire and Sorrentino demonstrate it, this issue is probably
the best one yet and I know that I've been repeating this for a
while. Lemire's retelling of Shado's origin and connecting it to
Ollie's father and The Outsiders is brilliant, not to mention that
he has a great ability to start dropping little hints about the
world around GA and how this will certainly be used on the future.
He also deserves credit for presenting different sub-plots besides
of the main story. Oliver/Naomi/Fyff's love triangle, Emiko and the
gang battle for Seattle and one that obviously not going to end well
after Richard Dragon enters. Sorrentino deserves half of the credit
for how impressive this book is. We know that his art is really
distinctive and beautiful but is also quite experimental too. The
pages telling Shado's origin was incredibly detailed and wonderful.
Few times I have seen a series where both writer and artist
contribute equally to its greatness but fortunately this is one of
those rare cases.
Pick of
the week once again.
