The
war against Steppenwolf continues.
Not even the combined forces of the Wonders from this earth are able
to stop Steppenwolf's terrors. Meanwhile, Hawkgirl is having
troubles dealing with the mystery of Alan's fiancée and we finally
see Mister Miracle and Big Barda again fighting against Fury just to
be intercepted by the World Army's new Wonder, the Red Tornado.
This issue was actually pretty dense, especially in comparison to
the ones from the previous arc. There are three different stories
going on here, the war against Steppenwolf, Hawkgirl fighting
against a new version of the Fiddler called Melody and Fury trying
to capture both Mister Miracle and Barda, all of those plots are
handled pretty well too. I'm glad that Robinson is finally upping
the pace and this is most likely due to his imminent departure that
at least something good came from that.
Nicola Scott's art is even more gorgeous than before and it's good
to see her improving due to being involved on this title as the
battles are really well depicted and the characters are beautiful. I
just hope that in the future she's able to draw multiple characters
at the same time so we can actually have a modern George Perez in
female form.
Excellent issue, I'm really anticipating the conclusion of this arc.
