CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS IN THE HEART OF MELBOURNE – FED SQUARE FESTIVE FUN

In the true spirit of Christmas, the heart of Melbourne, Fed Square, is a bustling hub of Christmas action all month, with a range of free activities designed to excite and delight Melburnians and visitors alike at this special time of the year.

LEGO Christmas Tree

First stop is the largest LEGO Christmas tree in the southern hemisphere!  Lit up just last week, the tree is at the heart of Christmas at Fed Square.  Made and designed by LEGO Master Builder Chris Steininger, the tree is constructed from over half a million bricks and features a magical lightshow set to Christmas carols every evening.  See it light up and come to life as you marvel at its magic.  Daily until Sunday 27 December, 24 hours with sound and light show nightly from 9.00pm.

LEGO Christmas Decoration Building Workshops

In the spirit of the season, the whole family can build decorations made from LEGO to take home for their own tree, as part of these festive Christmas workshops.  Taking place on 6, 13 + 20 December from 10am – 3pm (or until the bricks run out), come and be inspired at The Square and take home your own unique creation!

LEGO Christmas Creations

Visit a display of remarkable LEGO models that have been built by dedicated adult fans of LEGO right here in Melbourne.  On display all day and night in The Atrium Fracture Gallery until Sunday 27 December.

Calling all gamers……Freeplay’s Summer Games on the Big Screen

At 6pm, every Tuesday (except Tuesday 29) in December, gamers can join Two to Four: Freeplay Gaming on the Big Screen. Celebrate with this specially selected Australian-made, multiplayer-only videogame program. Compete, collaborate, cheer and jeer as you jump through clouds and play impossible sports in the welcoming ‘lounge room’ set up by the big screen.  Relax, chill and game.  What could be better?

Tuesday 8, 15 + 22 December from 6pm – 8pm, Big Screen

Outdoor Cinema

Pull up a deckchair in front of the Big Screen and relax with family-friendly Christmas films every Wednesday.  Christmas favourite The Grinch is the next festive feature (9 December) so bring the family for some festive film fun.

Wednesday 9, 16 + 23 December, 6pm – 8pm, Big Screen

Basket Makers Christmas Market Stall

Looking for that precious handmade gift for someone special?  Head to this volunteer-run stall to choose from a range of basketry including Christmas stars, decorations, small baskets, bird feeders and more!  There’s sure to be something for everyone.

Fed Square Live Christmas Edition
