Even though True True Blood
blatantly rips off the excellent HBO series True Blood in
name only,
this novel is about the world's most grisly vampire slayings and is
actually quite an interesting read.
Written by Megan
Norris who has a passion in crime writing, she collects 9 of the
most bizarre and gruesome real-world vampire styled murders from
around the world and collates them in this book.
Best of all, Norris
even dedicates a chapter to the history of Vampires and whether they
are Myths or Monsters which is quite a thought provoking read. The
first "vampire" in the novel is Countess Elizabeth Bathory, a
Hungarian noble who took the premise of being a vampire to a truly
sickening level and was dubbed as the world's first female serial
killer.
From here, the
reader is taken on a historical journey that includes infamous
killers from around the world such as Tracey Wigginton, Matthew
Hardman and Perth's lesbian Vampire killers, Valerie Parashumti and
Jessica Stasinowsky who even mocked the families of their victims in
court.
Norris goes into
some detail on why these individuals became so sick, briefly
touching on their early life, their crimes and even the court
details on their heinous killings. Although vampires do not exist,
this novel will explore the dark psyche of humanity and how the
premise of vampirism has lead these individuals into a sick and
twisted world of bloody murder.
An interesting read
if you enjoy crime novels.
