Loosely continuing from the Vin Diesel movie xXx, xXx: State of the Union (known in the US) or xXx: The Next Level (known in Australia) stars Ice Cube as Darius Stone, a former and reckless government agent who has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Fortunately for him, the world needs Stone as five star general and Secretary of Defense George Deckert (Willem Dafoe) has assembled a splinter group of military mavericks, in an effort to overthrow the government.

In an effort to stop his plot, a top secret agency has recruited Darius Stone to use his unorthodox methods and throw Deckert's plan off balance. As the newest xXx agent, Darius will have access to cutting edge tools and weapons and is your classic "American" style James Bond movie.

The movie is quite cliched and over the top at times which pays homage to the original movie which was actually quite bad. In terms of entertainment, the sequel is actually more entertaining, although the stunts a little subdued compared to the original. Definitely one for lovers of bad 90's action movies!

The video quality of xXx looks quite impressive on Blu-ray, although not as clear as some of the other conversions from Sony. Match that with Dolby TrueHD 5.1 sound and its quite impressive through our surround sound system.

The disc also contains a few special features, although it's more for the fan of the movie, however if you are into films from Segal to Van Damme, than xXx: The Next Level is for you!
