The sequel to the hugely popular “tweens” movie, the Sisterhood of
the Travelling Pants returns on Blu-ray and DVD which once again
focuses on friendships, relationships and the hardships of life.
Thankfully, the series has matured and once again, the viewer is
reunited with the four stars of the original movie as they share
their tales about a pair of blue jeans which they can all fit into.
Since the original, several years have passed and these four best
friends are still together as they now share another obstacle in
life, college, work and the real-world. Unfortunately as they grow, so do their life choices
and when Carmen (America Ferrera) is hoping to spend summer with her
friends, Bridget, Tibby and Lena have other ideas.
Tibby (Amber Tamblyn) wishes to stay in New York to complete her screenplay,
whereas Lena (Alexis Bledel) has decided to stay on for summer
school and finally Bridget (Blake Lively) has planned to visit
turkey in order to further her archaeological studies.
Once again,
each of the girls lives are told in an interesting fashion who all
share a common link in this engaging sequel that revisits these
wonderful characters as they mature into young women.
On Blu-ray the
video quality of this presentation is quite exceptional with
extremely sharp images, vibrant colours and perfect picture quality.
This is complimented by perfect sound quality which needs to be
listened through the correct surround sound system to enjoy. Even
though it’s not a blockbuster movie that makes full use of the
sound, there are some elements in the film that really make good use
of this system.
In conclusion, the Sisterhood of the Travelling
Pants is a great drama that girls, women and some men will enjoy and allow for
some great reminiscing.
