I was pretty darn happy to receive this disc to review for impulsegamer.com as I had wanted to see the movie at the cinema but never got the chance to do so. The movie is a bit of a no brainer with aliens taking over the earth with Los Angeles being one of the last places that humanity can take a stand against the menace that confronts them. Aaron Eckhart is the lead in this adventure, playing the quintessential square jawed Sarge leading and inspiring his troops to greatness in the face of massive adversity.

The special effects that you see in the film are pretty darn convincing and the action moves along at a really nice clip. This is a pretty good thing taking into account that the story doesn't have too much depth to it, but is enough fun that viewers won't really care too much as they get sucked into the story as is through the sheer strength of the visuals.

The blu ray edition of this movie is gorgeous to look at and a credit to the format. Colours are well represented and honestly there is very little to complain about. Great looking movie. The audio on the disc is also of a very good standard that should have most decent home theatres putting themselves through a decent enough work out with enough going on that viewers will convince themselves that they are in the middle of a warzone.

This edition is packed full of extras which have to be seen to be believed. Almost every part of the movie that you would like to know more about. Gamers should be very happy with this release as there are themes and demos on the blu ray that will work with your PS3 gaming console. Extras include:

This is a really cool movie that is packed full of effects that are utterly outstanding. Viewers will find themselves immersed into the movie with a action packed, popcorn munching experience waiting for the right audience. It's a really nice release that will be well worth adding to your collections.
