ASUS Republic of Gamers Announces ROG Join the Republic Community Challenge at PAX AUS 2017
Sydney, Australia – October 24th — ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today announced the return of the ROG Join the Republic Community Challenge to PAX Australia, this weekend October 27-29. Plus there will be challenges and prizes, and a ROG Community party.
The highly successful global gaming series commenced with the first offline audition from July 27-30 at ChinaJoy in Shanghai, China, the ROG Join the Republic Community Challenge 2017 returns to Australia as a part of its aim to bring amateur gamers from all over the world together to experience truly competitive pro-gaming.
Challenge for your place in the Australian Counter-Strike Global Offensive (CS:GO) team at PAX Australia this weekend.

- Challenge for your place in the Australian Counter-Strike GO (CS:GO) team at PAX Australia this weekend.
- Register at the Republic of Gamers Stand 5628 (opposite PAX Arena) from 10am Friday 27th October.
- Win prizes, an exclusive bootcamp experience and trip to DreamHack Sweden in January 2018
Through the weekend CS:GO trials will find the top amateur players at PAX. Then our captains at the booth will interview players for selection in a final 5v5 to determine who will make the top squad.
Two team captains, both top CS:GO players and live streamers, will be making these selections: George “SkitzMachine” Ison and Sarina “SarinaCSGO” Bruno
The Australian team chosen for Join the Republic will then be provided with Republic of Gamers gear and a special bootcamp to hone their skills. It all culminates in the Grand Finals in January 2018 at Dreamhack in Stockholm, Sweden.
In addition to Join the Republic, there will be more gaming competitions where players can win prize giveaways, meet and challenge gaming streamers and Youtubers: Pipoping, Tyrodin, Skitzmachine and AngelMelly.
Plus, visitors to the booth at PAX AUS will be able to register for a ROG community party to be held on Sunday night on South Wharf next to PAX as a great way to see out the weekend and celebrate Join the Republic.
The global finals will feature eight teams each in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and League of Legends, the ROG Join the Republic Community Challenge will feature some of the world’s most recognised personalities in gaming and esports to form the ultimate community team. These personalities will act as team captains, selecting members based on their performances in different challenges hosted at gaming events all over the world. Once formed, all teams will then compete in the Grand Finals, which will be held in January, 2018 in Stockholm, Sweden.
