Footy Good

Sometimes all a person needs after a long week of working is to shoot and kick stuff in the most over-the-top way possible. Just to grab a controller and start shooting everything that moves without thinking about the consequences. That was the kind of game I missed and Angry Foot just delivered that. A crazy, angry, and footy action-packed game that you won’t stop playing.

This first-person shooter is the craziest game I’ve played this year. Angry Foot takes place in Shit City where everything is run by criminals. Criminality is the norm there and four different gangs run different parts of the city.

Angry Foot Review

Angry Foot is our hot-head hero who is also a sneaker fanatic. After these gangs stole four pairs of his most unique sneakers, he decided to get them back. We thought John Wick might have overdone it because of a dog, but this guy is about to burn the whole city because of some sneakers.

The game has simple mechanics. Kick enemies or shoot them and survive until the end of the level. It’s pretty simple, but that idea doesn’t get boring even if you play the game over and over. The magic lies in the level design of Angry Foot.

Each level will pose a different challenge that will surprise you. After the first few levels, you are bound to die a few times in these levels until you learn the right strategy, placement of enemies, and how to defeat them. Even though this gets frustrating sometimes to die repeatedly, the reward of finishing each level is truly amazing.

Angry Foot Gameplay

The value of repeat in Angry Foot is simply top-notch. Each level has some side tasks and completing them will give you starts that you can unlock new shoes. The trick is that you cannot get all three stars in one go because they contradict each other. For instance, in the same level, you will get a start for 10 headshots and another for not using a weapon at all.

The game keeps getting fresh by adding new weapons and enemies. Defeating them will require a new strategy which is a great challenge. Then there are the boss fights. I was surprised how good they were. Each boss fight would require a different style of fighting and defeating them won’t be easy either. It has a good balance between challenge and being fun.

The new shoes seem fun at first but when you unlock more of them, they become an essential part of your gameplay and strategy. In one level you may need extra life to survive, while in the other a shoe that replenishes your ammo is much more useful.

Angry Foot Reviewe

What I admire the most about Anger Foot is how quickly the game starts and lets you play. In recent years many video games have these long cinematic sequences or long walks to introduce players to the world, characters, and gameplay mechanics. But in Angry Foot, it just tells you to kick or shoot and then lets you play that.

Even though the audio got glitchy sometimes, the beat and rhythm of its soundtracks matched the pace of the game perfectly. It does a good job of making the adrenaline kick in you while the combat gets tense.

Angry Foot Boss Fight

The biggest issue I had with Angry Foot was some serious bugs in the last parts of the game. This includes some glitches that made me fall beneath the surface and have to restart the level, frame drops in some sequences, and glitchy rigid bodies of enemies. Thankfully, there are game breaks that will prevent you from playing the game.

Final Thoughts?

Angry Foot is the most fun game you can play this year. It is fast, funny, punishing, and rewarding all at the same time. It has a great level design, with simple mechanics and a high value of repeatability. There are a few minor technical issues, but it shouldn’t stop you from playing this gem of an action game.
