Amazon introduces next generation Echo Show 8

Third generation Echo Show 8 boasts new industrial design, intuitive home screen experience featuring faster processing, Matter/Zigbee/Thread compatibility and an enhanced audio offering – and it’s just AU$249.

Amazon today announces that the newest generation of the beloved Echo Show 8 is coming to Australia, with pre-orders open now. With edge-to-edge glass and soft curvatures across an eight-inch screen, the next generation Echo Show 8 is better inside and out, and is perfectly designed for both immersive entertainment and practicality.

Ideally suited for the kitchen, living room or home office, with the new Echo Show 8 customers can control smart home devices via the built-in smart home hub, watch or listen to their favourite content, make video calls to friends and family, check compatible cameras, view and update shopping lists, customise a rotating photo display, and more.

Perfect for entertainment, the enhanced audio offering provides improved clarity and bass, with room adaptation technology and room-filling spatial audio processing for optimal sound, while the HD display means video content is bright and vibrant. Video calls are even better with a centred, auto-framing 13-megapixel camera, plus an enhanced audio pipeline which minimises background noise from around the home.

Featuring a combination of Alexa’s utility and the convenience of an eight-inch HD touchscreen screen, Echo Show 8 has a built-in smart home hub, allowing users to be more connected than ever and easily manage their smart home devices. The new industrial design and upgraded processor means the upgraded Echo Show 8 will see Alexa process common smart home requests 40% faster, whether you’re turning on or off a smart light, switch, or plug.

The built-in smart home hub includes support for Matter, Zigbee and Thread, without the need for a separate hub, enabling easy pairing and control of compatible smart home devices. Manage compatible cameras, lights and more using the display or your voice, or activate routines with movement. Also supports connectivity via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

The new Echo Show 8 features Adaptive Content, a redefined home screen experience – which is also present on the Echo Hub – meaning that you’ll see more useful and engaging content and information when you’re near the device. Accessing frequently used content or widgets is also made easier via shortcut icons which can be opened with just a tap. And, if the customer is enrolled in visual ID, the screen will deliver a personalised view, highlighting things like a recent playlist or additional news articles from a preferred news outlet, for added convenience.

As always, Alexa and Echo Show devices are created with multiple layers of privacy protection. Customers have complete transparency and control over their Alexa experience, from the manual mic/camera off button and built-in camera shutter to the ability to delete your voice recordings.

Echo Show 8 is designed with sustainability in mind. 99% of the device packaging is made of wood fibre-based materials from responsibly managed forests or recycled sources.

The all-new Echo Show 8 is available for pre-order from today in Glacier White and Charcoal for RRP AU$249 from Amazon.com.au/EchoShow8jbhifi.com.au and leading retailers, and will begin shipping from 22 August.
