A Star is Born: Enchanting Photography Indie The Star Named EOS Launches Globally on Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation®5, & Xbox Series X|S

Developer Silver Lining Studio and publisher PLAYISM just released their story-driven puzzle game The Star Named EOS, now globally available for purchase at $14.99 USD on Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S Consoles, as well as the Epic Games Store, GOG, Humble Store, Sonkwo & Heybox. Additionally, a special 10% discount is currently applied across all platforms, to help celebrate the game’s arrival! However, due to external complications, Nintendo Switch players in the Nintendo of Europe (NOE) Region will not be eligible for the 10% discount.

Our team at Silver Lining Studio is deeply proud to finally share The Star Named EOS with the world. The story is about family, memory, and the beauty in life that often remains undiscovered until we set out to find it. It’s our sincere hope that players everywhere can enjoy this shared experience, and that The Star Named EOS also reminds them to celebrate the cherished relationships, people and memories in their own personal lives,” said Weichen Lin, Game Producer.

The follow-up to Silver Lining Studio’s hit indie game Behind the Frame, The Star Named EOS is a hand-drawn, first-person puzzle game with a story that focuses on a love for photography and the pursuit of memory. As a child, Dei regularly received letters from his oft-traveling mother, each of which came enclosed with a special photograph of the location she was visiting. But at the story’s outset, Dei notices something odd about one of the snapshots she left behind, putting his beliefs to the test. Now, guided by his mother’s voice within, Dei must chart his own path to unearth the truth and face the echoes of the past.

The Star Named EOS features the voice talent of actress Suzie Yeung, who voiced the mischievous Yuffie Kisaragi in Final Fantasy VII Remake and FFVII Rebirth, as well as numerous other roles. Commenting on the experience, Yeung had this to say:

The Star Named EOS is a beautiful, immersive game that has charming music and visuals. The atmosphere is very soothing, self-reflecting, and a little mysterious. It’s one of those games that I would enjoy winding down and playing at the end of a long day.

Working with the team has been a delight! Recording it was relaxing and easygoing, and everyone was very kind and had great input. It was a collaborative process, and the team really took their time to make sure everything felt just right. I could tell they put a lot of love into their work and look forward to their future success!”

Explore a unique, hand-drawn world and capture the fleeting moments that shape one’s life. Recreate old photographs and uncover the long-lost truth of a family mystery, as fragmented memories will help you discover a love that was left unrealized. Featuring a satisfying blend of a dazzling, evocative art style and narrative-focused puzzle game mechanics, The Star Named EOS will take you on a mesmerizing, inspired journey of reminiscence and identity.

The Star Named EOS is now globally available on all major consoles and PC storefronts for $14.99 USD, with a special 10% launch day discount applied to all platforms that lasts until Tuesday, July 30th.  For more information and news related to The Star Named EOS, visit the PLAYISM website, Twitter, and Discord, or visit Terminals.io.
