Mysterious Cities of Gold: Secret Paths reaches 150% of funding goal on Kickstarter
Paris, France, October 1 2013 – Game developer Neko Entertainment and publisher Ynnis Interactive are happy and proud to have surpassed their funding goal by a comfortable margin on Kickstarter, for the second official video game based on the “Mysterious Cities of Gold” universe, titled “Secret Paths”.
In consequence, the game will release this fall on Windows PC, in addition to already confirmed platforms, Nintendo Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, Apple iPad and iPhone. Furthermore, the game will benefit from thorough dubbing of French cut-scenes and dialogs to English, as well as subtitles in nine additional languages (German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, Norwegian, Swedish, Polish and Arabic) in preparation for a global launch.
During the campaign, there was continuous demand from series fans in the Middle East (where the adventures of Esteban, Tao and Zia are told under the title “Golden Dreams”) for translation to Arabic language. This extra localization was subsequently added as a stretch goal, which has also been broken at the eleventh hour. Arabic will thus be officially supported in the game, which makes Mysterious Cities of Gold: Secret Paths the first ever title to feature this language option on a Nintendo platform.
For latecomers, a Slacker Backer page has been opened in collaboration with the awesome people over at the Humble Bundle store, in order to enable preorders for the Windows PC version. Payments are accepted through Paypal, Amazon Payments and Google Wallet.
A mini-documentary about the production and art teams has been published on YouTube.
