You just have to walk down the street to see how popular Smart Phones have become, especially iPhones. However due to the portable nature of these devices, the screens are quite vulnerable to scratches, drops, marks and even cracking. The obvious solution is to install a screen protector but after awhile, these products become damaged and then you need to purchase another one. However, developers Saviour Glass have another option available called the Screen Guardian which is available for the iPhone 4/4s & iPhone 5/5s. The product is also available for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Samsung Galaxy S4.
Unlike traditional “plastic” screen protectors, the Screen Guardian is far superior because it is created from 9H Super Tough Glass which means it adds an additional layer of protection to your iPhone screen including anti-shatter, anti-impact and anti-scratch. Best of all, once installed you still have access to the touch sensitivity of your Smart Phone. Given that the product is slightly thicker (0.3mm) than your run of the mill screen protectors, the Screen Guardian is compatible with most iPhone cases and after testing this for the last couple of weeks, I can definitely concur because I change cases quite often.

The Screen Guardian comes with everything you need to install the screen protector that includes an alcohol pad, microfiber cleaning cloth, glass screen guardian and 2 “home” button stickers for the iPhone 4/4s. The two home button stickers basically allows you to place a sticker on the home button for additional protection. In terms of installation, this process is quite simplistic and the first step is to remove the alcohol pad and then clean the screen with the included cloth. Once your screen is clean, you simply remove the first layer from the Screen Guardian which is conveniently marked by a 1 sticker and then carefully line-up the product onto your screen.
When you have laid the Screen Guardian onto your iPhone, the developers suggest that firmly hold your index finger in the middle of the screen to complete the silicone adhesion process. There were a few bubbles on the screen that did go after a few days and most can be pushed away. The only issue I had with the Screen Guardian is the microfiber cleaning cloth that did leave a few strands of fibre on the screen which took me a few goes to remove. The whole process took just a few minutes and once installed, it just felt like the original iPhone screen.
Final Thoughts?
The Screen Guardian from Saviour Glass is a brilliant product that surpasses the mass produced screen protectors because it is made from glass. More importantly the installation process is a breeze and this screen will last considerably longer due to its anti-shatter, anti-impact and anti-scratch technology. After using this product for a few weeks now, I noticed no scratches whatsoever which I was expecting because I put my iPhone in my pocket with keys. This was not the case. Another interesting element is that the Screen Guardian does not get as dirty as plastic screen protectors.
