Brought to you by Charlie Fab, Mshindo and Uraeus
When I think of this team, I imagine tall tales, suspense, revelation and silky smooth pacing. The Eye of the Storm doesn’t disappoint.
Jaycen is back and looking to procure “The Eye of the Storm” diamond, the largest diamond in the Congo. Here we run into Fatimah, a femme fatale determined to steal the diamond for an organization known as The Sons of Hermes. Not only is she sultry and sexy in a flawless way, she is an immortal to boot. This does further set up that there may be rivals to Jaycen who we may meet in the future, who rival him in some way that is life threatening.
Uraeus brings the heat again in a smooth articulation of dialogue and while this is a suspense filled tale it doesn’t seem to ever become a talking head scenario. I’m not sure just yet, but once again Charles hits it out of the park and brings another smooth silhouette panel between Jaycen and Fatimah where they trade facts about who, where and why are they both here. All over a glass of merlot. Quite scintillating. Easily the icing on the cake here is Mshindo who doesn’t bombard the reader with any colors choosing ambient lights to set the mood for the ultimate heist with green, red, yellow and black.
While the panel sequencing is amazing, the heist does go a bit too smoothly for my liking. That does speak highly to there skill and if that was the goal then bravo. The lack of suspense makes it harder to enjoy anything more than our hero one upping the antagonist. I was torn on where to grade this but to this team, please, please, team up again and keep putting out quality like this. Jaycen Wise and The Eye of The Storm gets a 3/5!
