ViewSonic takes touch screens to the next level with the new TD40 Series Touch Displays

NSW, Sydney – January 21, 2014 – The gradually increasing popularity of touch-friendly interfaces such as Windows 8.1 was the driver behind the development of ViewSonic’s new TD2240 and the TD2740, 21.5-inch (54.61-cm) and 27-inch (68.58-cm) touch screen displays.

The TD2240 and the TD2740 are equipped with 10-point projected capacitive touch screens. Projected capacitive touch technology gives users a smoother and more accurate touch display experience with increased interactivity. With its 10-point multi-touch technology and a durable, scratch resistant surface, the TD40 series offers a highly accurate and ultra-responsive touch experience.

The TD2740 offers a 1.0-MP front webcam and microphone, delivering a versatile solution for videoconferencing, as well as for use as an information kiosk in public areas, or as a teaching tool in interactive learning environments.

The TD2240 includes an integrated Mobile High-Definition Link (MHL) that lets users display mobile devices directly to a larger screen without the need for a PC while simultaneously charging the mobile device’s battery.

Max Liu, product marketing director of ViewSonic Asia Pacific said, “With touch technology, interactive display monitors can now be used as a great tool for information kiosks, airport counters, hotel receptions, points of sale and interactive education. The whole new TD40 series offers excellent interactivity, along with superior front-of-screen performance. The TD40 series offers a highly-accurate and ultra-responsive touch experience for web-browsing, gaming, typing or applications execution. With the addition of our TD40 series, ViewSonic has a strong product portfolio in a range of sizes in 22-inch, 23-inch, 24-inch and 27-inch to meet every consumer, commercial and educational demand.”

The bookstand design of the ViewSonic TD2240 and TD2740 screens provides advanced ergonomics and allows the display to be tilted or laid flat. The display base is so stable that the screen won’t shake when touched, allowing for more accurate operation.

The TD40 series features a 1920 x 1080 Full HD 1080p resolution for incredible pixel-by-pixel image performance. Paired with SuperClear® technology with ultra-wide viewing angles of 178°/178° and vivid color performance, the TD40 series brings greater definition and clarity to multimedia content, eliminating image distortion and colour shifting, even at extreme angles.
The touch display is constructed with a 7H-hardness protective glass which provides increased scratch-protection to deliver the safest and most durable touch experience. It prevents any heavy damage caused by fingers, nails, or styluses during touch operations, making it ideal for use in kiosks, educational settings, or other public environments.

ViewSonic’s TD40 series is equipped with a HDMI port and DisplayPort digital interface to support signals from set-top boxes, Blu-ray players and Full HD camcorders, delivering Full HD images.

The TD2240 also features a four-port USB 3.0 hub to provide easy connectivity for a wide range of storage devices, computer peripherals and high-definition electronics.

The TD2240 is available now for an RRP of $799 and TD2740 is available now for an RRP of $1,499. For further information on the product please visit http://www.viewsonic.com.au/products/lcd/?f_series=TD or ViewSonic.com.
