Build & Battle War Robots

Players can engineer their victory with mechanical precision and power. From pre-built mechs to custom masterpieces, 5,000,000+ build combinations are possible in War Robots: Frontiers. Mix and match using over 115 Modules, and prime Robots with a vast arsenal of Weapons, ability-granting Gear, skilled Pilots, and stylish cosmetics. 18 unique War Robots are available at launch, including:

  • VARANGIAN (FLANKER): A hulking metal warrior. Weaken enemies with serious damage, then survive retaliatory fire using its Core Gear—Energy Dome.
  • RAVANA (DEFENDER): A demon on the battlefield. Ravana can protect itself and allies to anchor a defense line against enemy incursions.
  • TYPHON (TACTICIAN): Bring on the storm. A bit of a glass cannon, Typhon can dish out damage from a great distance. Use its Core Gear—Blackout—to jam enemy guns if things go awry.
  • FENRIR (ASSAULT): Howling into action. Rush in, trade blows, withdraw, and regenerate. It’s good at medium range, and best in close combat. Its Core Gear—Ragnarok—burns off armor in exchange for more speed and higher damage.

Every War Robot is designed to make players feel the weight and power of a gigantic mech that stands three stories high and weighs over 100 tonnes. For maximum immersion, they’re powered by a custom animation simulation, with 15 different rigs working to define the way each one moves and fights.

Maps & Modes

War Robots: Frontiers features four highly detailed and tactically rich maps at launch (including the all-new Terminus), with day-and-night cycles and dynamic weather systems bringing these sci-fi inspired worlds to life. Every map is set in the Wild Ten, a distant planetary system and the new frontier that mercenary Pilots and their War Robots battle over.

  • TERMINUS: A frozen asteroid that harbors a spaceport and cargo facility. Its World Bridge connects the Wild Ten to the Solar System, making it a crucial strategic foothold for Dominions. Full of dense tunnels and open avenues, its energy barriers block projectiles but allow War Robots to pass, allowing for clever tactical plays.
  • FISSURE: Found in the snowy southern hemisphere of Wild 5, a massive refinery dominates its wintry landscape. A rare resource called Noachium is processed here, which powers War Robots and interstellar travelIts treacherous high-ground terrain is ideal for snipers, while close-combat brawlers can find battles near the refinery. Fissure can be traversed with lifts, and a large machine can even be crashed on top of unsuspecting enemies.
  • SPECTRUM: This secretive research base consumes a tremendous amount of power, and a colossal Warp needle skewers its heart. It is a site of almost constant conflict. With plenty of high ground for sniping, Spectrum is also the perfect place for mid or close-range fights, with lots of secure points and open paths available.
  • CATALYST: The volcanic activity around this geothermal power plant produces a rare crystalline substance that powers Wild Prime. Fights break out in the center, away from the damaging lava, but teams can find good sniping opportunities on each side. For braver Pilots, scaling the plant’s pipes offers vulnerability in exchange for control of the map from above.

Gear up for battle across three different modes:

  • WARP RUSH: The goal is to capture Warp Gates, which can be used tactically as spawn points once captured. Holding Warp Gates lets teams accumulate Control Points. Reaching the Control Point target or defeating all enemy Robots will secure victory.
  • LAST ROBOT STANDING (LRS): An elimination-based mode. Teams must strive to destroy all enemy War Robots. Respawns are limited to your initial Drop Team, but as new spawn points become available, they can be leveraged to get closer to ongoing battles. Engage, obliterate, repeat.
  • TEAM DEATHMATCH (TDM): Earn points by destroying enemy Robots and Titans. To win, teams must reach the point limit before the enemy. Fallen Robots can be redeployed after a delay. On top of that, collecting Power-Ups offers massive combat bonuses, including increased damage, reduced cooldowns, and even orbital assaults. The first team to 30 eliminations wins.

A Drop Team of five War Robots can be brought into battle per player, alongside an extra heavy mech built for maximum damage—the Titan. Depending on the mode, War Robots that are destroyed may have a respawn timer or be out of action for the rest of the match, so tag them in strategically.

Play Your Way

War Robots: Frontiers offers approachability without sacrificing depth. New players can jump into battle straight away in pre-built mechs, while seasoned players can refine every aspect of their builds to suit their playstyle, try out new gear, or switch up their tactics. Cross-platform online play lets players engage with friends or rivals across PC and console, while multiple game modes, including ranked Leagues, guarantee there’s a battle to match every mood and skill level.

Since launching in Early Access, War Robots: Frontiers has deployed hundreds of additions and improvements thanks to community feedback and frequent playtests. Sweeping changes such as a revamped UI, a new tutorial, reworked maps, social features, and constant under-the-hood mech tinkering have made War Robots: Frontiers into a world-class multiplayer experience.

Season 1: Blockade is out now and introduces the first large-scale content update for War Robots: Frontiers. A huge payload of launch content includes the Terminus map, Leagues, new Jobs, and two Battle Passes available to all players throughout Season 1. The first Battle Pass—Under the Wire—launches on March 11, and features the War Robot Cyclops. Future updates will bring everything from new War Robots to new maps, modes, rewards, and much more.
