MARK MILLAR AND GORAN PARLOV’S SCI-FI HERO COMES OUT OF RETIREMENT FOR “STARLIGHT LIBRARY EDITION”

The Millarworld comics library from Dark Horse Comics continues to expand, as Mark Millar and Goran Parlov’s science-fiction masterpiece about a great hero picking up the mantle years after retirement finds a new home in Starlight Library Edition. This new edition offers readers a gorgeous, oversized, deluxe collection of the series, soon to be adapted into an action movie from a major studio! Featuring Parlov’s gritty, brush-heavy art style combined with Millar’s action and character-driven writing, Starlight’s creative team includes colorist Ive Svorcina (Aliens vs. Avengers), and letterer Marko Šunjić (Biblioteka Orka), with cover art by John Cassaday (Star Wars).

In Starlight:

Forty years ago, Duke McQueen was a space hero who rescued an alien world from tyranny. Unfortunately, nobody believed him when he came back from his intergalactic adventure. Now, his kids have grown up, his wife has passed away, and life has little to offer him in his lonely retirement. All that loneliness is tossed aside when an old-fashioned rocket ship descends into his backyard, and a little boy from the world he saved urges him to come back to save the universe one last time.

Can Duke handle the leap from has-been to hero? Will he even fit into his old costume?

Collecting the six-issue classic series, look out for Starlight Library Edition when the 184-page (8″ x 12.1875″) oversized hardcover volume arrives in bookstores and comic shops on September 9 and 10, 2025, for $49.99. Pre-order now from TFAW, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, or your local bookstore, or visit Comic Shop Locator for more details and stores near you.

Praise for Starlight and Millarworld:

“Special attention must be given to [Starlight] colorist Ive Svorcina, who has to be the most underrated colorist working today. He’s probably better known for his painterly colors on books like Thor: God of Thunder, but here he shines, quite literally, with a brighter and more cartoonish palette.”—AIPT

“Overall, this has been a really enjoyable read. I love stories told from a supervillain’s perspective, and Nemesis makes for one hell of a villain with his extreme approach. I also appreciate how Mark Millar weaves popular conspiracy theories into the storyline, adding another layer of intrigue.”—SciFiPulse.net

“JUPITER’S LEGACY: FINALE #3 hits readers with readers with an intergalactic invasion when the impending alien invasion is not what everyone thought. Mark Millar’s talent for rug-yanking surprises will leave you reeling.”—ComicalOpinions

“The opener in this latest volume of the Magic Order is a violent, mysterious melodrama-fueled set up piece, that introduces new characters, monsters and dangers as it looks to put Cordelia Moonstone through several rings of fire in the story to come. Exceptionally beautiful clean art and coloring bring the story to life in cinematic fashion. If this is the final chapter of the Magic Order, issue one makes the promise that it will quite possibly be it’s most dramatic!”—ComicWatch
