Legendary Hellboy Creator Mike Mignola, Horror Icon Christopher Golden, and Superstar Artist Bridgit Connell Reunite

Mike Mignola and his Outerverse co-creator Christopher Golden are once again teaming up with artist Bridgit Connell to continue the epic adventures of Lady Baltimore in a new two-part comics event. Written by Mignola and Golden with art from Connell, colors by Michelle Madsen, and letters by Clem Robins, Lady Baltimore: The Daughters of Medusa is the new chapter in the Outerverse Universe of books.

“We’re thrilled to jump back into the Outerverse with this new Lady Baltimore adventure,” says Christopher Golden. “This world continues to evolve and surprise us all as we create it, and what a gift it is to have Bridgit Connell bringing these stories to life. It’s a lot to ask of an artist to give us pages that are both beautiful and horrifying, sometimes in the same panel, and Bridgit nails it every time. I can’t wait till readers get their hands on this story!”

Following the events of 2021’s Lady Baltimore: The Witch Queens and 2023’s Lady Baltimore: The Dream of Ikelos –  Lady Baltimore: The Daughters of Medusa throws readers back into the thick of a supernatural world war against occult nazis. Sofia Baltimore and her team of adventurers travel to Paris to investigate reports of spies and soldiers being turned to stone by a gorgon. Can Lady Baltimore defeat the monster without becoming one herself?

Artist Bridgit Connell adds, “The script for this story is one of my favorite monster stories I’ve ever read. Not only does Chris know how to pay homage to the lore of the gorgon, but the work he does with the characters involved is so meaningful and heart-wrenching. I think readers are going to enjoy this adventure, I certainly did!”

Praise for Lady Baltimore: The Witch Queens

“If you were on the hunt for a book about a cool lady with a sword fighting Nazi witches, this is the title for you. And let’s be honest, even if you weren’t looking for that…you need it. Trust me.”—SYFY WIRE

“Writers Mike Mignola and Christopher Golden continue to carve an amazing new path in their Outerverse world of comics, offering a rewarding read for longtime fans but still making it accessible to those that may have just started their journey. Artist Bridgit Connell continues to be the superstar addition to this line of books, delivering tremendous work in the monsters, magic, and mayhem of Lady Baltimore.”— COMICBOOK.COM

“The visuals from Bridgit Connell and Michelle Madsen are dark and detailed, blending perfectly into the larger world of this series and as pieces of the Mignola library as a whole.”—MONKEYS FIGHTING ROBOTS

“Witches, monsters, magic, and adventure abound in LADY BALTIMORE, the exciting new series from Dark Horse Comics, rich in story and art that brings it all to life. What’s not to like!”—Cat Staggs

“Mignola and Golden are probably, page for page the most consistent writers around.” — COMIC CRUSADERS

“When it was announced that Baltimore and Joe Golem existed in the same universe, an Outerverse as it’s being called to separate it from Hellboys Mignolaverse, it was an exciting time for fans of both series. Lady Baltimore is a logical first entry into this newly established larger universe, and it manages to live up to the legacy of Baltimore whilst also standing on its own two feet.”—COMICS THE GATHERING

“A dark and beautiful comic.”—FLICKERING MYTH

“Exciting.”—HORROR DNA

“Witchcraft! Swordplay! Gunplay! Snappy banter and hideous monsters! LADY BALTIMORE hurls the reader into a world of dark magic and secret societies and–most importantly–fun! Mignola, Golden, and Connell take you on a thrill ride as they build a mysterious mythology that is sure to please!”—Cullen Bunn, HARROW COUNTY, MANOR BLACK

“The book is sharply drawn and keeps you in the fight with Sofia every step of the way. The monsters the witch calls upon to attack Sofia are detailed — just look at the weird eyeballs — and rather unnerving.”—AIPT COMICS

“What do most horror fans gravitate towards? There are certain ingredients that most would agree with: monsters, witches, and ghosts. Each one of these on their own is intriguing, but all three together? Throw in the backdrop of the impending second World War, and the story is sure to be something special….Lady Baltimore: The Witch Queens is a perfect series for any fan of horror and history.”—FANBASE PRESS

“The mythology of the Outerverse is rich, the storytelling epic, the art is inspired, Mignola fans rejoice for the beginning of another outstanding universe filled with the kind of deep, layered storytelling we’ve come to expect from the master.”  — COMICS THE GATHERING

Lady Baltimore: The Daughters of Medusa #1 goes on sale in April, 2025. For more information, follow Dark Horse Comics on social media for more news, announcements, and updates.
