THE ONE
One dock to rule them all…
… If you’re on the adventure to find this device, then look no further because Razer have seriously delivered just that, a dock to rule them all.
This 14-port docking station boasts a plethora of connectivity options from dual display outputs, ultra-fast USB, 1GB Ethernet, 100 watts for charging and even 4K 120Hz output that makes this compact device (190 x 80 x 21.5 mm) an extremely valuable asset for your computer or laptop – particularly if you are limited to inputs.
The device is powered by an included 180W adapter that not only provides continuous power but as mentioned, allows you to charge power-hungry devices of up to 100W. Laptops and notebooks? Indeed! Besides being compatible with PCs, it is also compatible with Macbooks, iPads, Android devices, Chromebooks and more. Further, the device is available in two colours, mercury (reviewed) and black – with that in mind, it’s great that Razer are offering the “silver” opposed to their traditional “gamer” black or white.
The unboxing
Well packed from Razer, the Razer USB 4 Dock Mercury Edition is surprisingly lightweight and is made from thermally optimal aluminium alloy to ensure that no matter how many devices or cables are connected, it won’t overheat. It also comes with Razer’s 2-year extended warranty for additional peace of mind, so you can be rest assured that you’ll always be connected.

From a design perspective, it cannot be faulted and the aesthetics are quite pleasing to the eye that will match just about any setup you have. To install, you basically plug the included power adapter into the mains and also into your computer or laptop. Lastly, connect all your cables and devices in the dock and presto, you’re ready to go. It’s great that you don’t need your computer turned on to charge devices as well.
Ports, ports and more ports! There are so many inputs on this device…it has everything you need and Razer have definitely future proofed it (potentially apocalyptic proof) with the following;
- UHS-II MicroSD & SD Card
- Microphone Headphone Combo Port – Supports 7.1 Surround
- USB Type C 3.2 Gen 2 with Battery Charging 1.2 20W*
- One (1) USB A 3.2 Gen 2 – 10Gb/s
- Upstream USB 4 Type C to Host Device
- HDMI 2.1
- DisplayPort 1.4
- 1Gb Ethernet (RJ45) Port
- Two (2) USB A 3.2 Gen 1 – 5Gb/s
- One (1) USB A 2.0 – 480 Mb/s
- One (1) Dedicated USB for 2.4 GHz Dongles – 480 Mb/s
- Dual-Monitor Support
- 4K 120 Hz Display Output
Additionally, Razer have thought outside the box with the inclusion of inputs for SD and MicroSD cards and for users still using wired audio, a 3.5mm connection. Another impressive add-on is the USB-A port that is ideal for 2.4 GHz dongles (e.g. wireless mice or keyboards) as it minimises interference from other connected devices. So again, kudos for Razer for thinking outside the box. So as you can see, it comes with literally all the tech bells and whistles.
Final Thoughts?
Using the Razer USB 4 Dock Mercury Edition for the last weeks, this dock is fantastic. It’s well designed with accessible inputs that doesn’t feel too crowded. I love that I can charge my laptop and basically forgo that charger but then connect a plethora of devices to it. Further, it’s great on my gaming rig as I can access all ports easily opposed to the back of the case.
Brilliant!
