Portable power!

If you’re looking for an almost apocalyptic-proof powerbank, the NRG Vault Solar Outdoor Powerbank from Laser almost fits that box. Not only does it boast a rugged outdoor design but it delivers with a POWER-UP charge of 20,000mAh. More importantly, it comes with a solar panel to draw its energy from the sun (just like Superman) and yes, it can be charged with the included USB-C cable (not like Superman).

It has been designed for outdoors (e.g. boating, camping, fishing) with its military-like aesthetics and has an IP54 weather resistant rating to add protection from dust or splashes. It also doubles as a flashlight and allows you to charge up to 3 devices simultaneously, including giving you 18W PD fast charging. Add in a carry handle plus a protected ports cover and the NRG Vault Solar Outdoor Powerbank (20,000mAh) is ideal for those that spend a great deal of time outdoors.

The NRG Vault Solar Outdoor Powerbank (20,000mAh) is also fully charged when you receive it and the only issue I had is that the port cover is a little hard to open – I was expecting either broken finger nails or a snapped cover but thankfully this did not occur. However once you figure out that you need a bit of force to open the cover (understandable as you need to protect the ports from debris and water), it does make the process easier.

To charge? Simply plug in your devices and that’s it! Charging commences. Although the 20,000mAh won’t fast charge my Dell notebook, it will fast charge my Google Pixel 9 (see image below), including most devices that use USB-A, USB 2.0 or USB-C. Given that, this really makes the NRG Vault Solar Outdoor Powerbank quite versatile and it’s great that it has a solar panel for charging.
