GuliKit KK3 MAX Wireless Controller Review
Priced at $139AUD (October) and available from retailers such as JB Hi-Fi and BIG W, the GuliKit KK3 MAX Wireless Controller has been designed to provide cord free and performance-driven gaming for the PC, Nintendo Switch and mobile devices (both Android and iOS). It is also compatible with other PC gaming devices such as the ASUS ROG Ally and Steam Deck that has officially been launched in Australia. For wireless connectivity, its 950mAh battery will provide up to 28-hours of gaming on a single charge or 15 hours with all features turned on.
Although PC gamers can use console controllers, this does limit some of the functionality and if you’re seeking a high speed wireless gaming controller, the GuliKit KK3 MAX boasts some impressive features. These include a Hyperlink Adapter that delivers a 1000Hz Polling Rate for wireless connectivity that in collaboration with the Hall Effect Joysticks, provides super-fast responsiveness so you can win your virtual battles, well, that’s the plan. For customisation, the triggers can be switched between analogue and digital modes for additional accuracy that when added with their patented assist-aim technology, it offers four modes of aim assistance.
Add in a turbo mode, 6-Axis gyro, NFC-Amiibo and Switch awake functions that given the price of this controller is excellent value for money. It also has a vibration or DualSense (PlayStation), Rumble (Xbox) that uses a patented Maglev Vibration Motor to create the vibrations that we gamers love in gaming. This can be adjusted in order to reduce the vibration sensitivity plus there is a RGB lighting around the thumb sticks that can be adjusted.

The controller is definitely reminiscent of the Xbox controller which is a good thing because it keeps things familiar. In terms of size, it measures at 16.9cm x 13.4cm with a weight of just 596 grams that makes it a good hold and not too heavy or light. It also comes with high speed mechanical buttons and from a physical customisation perspective, the rear paddles underneath are not only swappable but they can be personalized (G1 to G4) plus you can replace the button cap and it comes with everything you need to do this.
On the far side near the shoulder buttons, there is a button to swap between USB, iOS/Android and Switch plus a battery level meter, a mode and sync (pairing) button including a USB-C connection for charging. As mentioned it does feel good in your hands and the only slight drawback are the rear paddles that do feel a little large but after a week or so, this became a thing of the past but initially I thought wow, these guys are large. I also like how it comes with a case to keep the controller and all its accessories nice and safe.
Pairing it with your systems (instructions is included) is generally selecting the system mode (e.g. Windows), holding the pairing button for 2-seconds and then searching for the device via Bluetooth. If you use the dongle, you plug that into your PC, swap to this mode and then hold the pairing button down. That’s easy! It does become a little more in-depth if you’re tweaking the controller via the device itself like setting motion aim assist or adjusting the vibration intensity which is a series of button presses – not as bad as a Mortal Kombat special maneuver.
Playing it on the PC, there were no responsive issues whatsoever and no sticking. It’s definitely designed for first person shooters and games such as Halo Infinite, Destiny 2 and Helldivers 2 worked a treat. Equally, titles such as Star Wars Outlaws, Mortal Kombat 1, Warhammer and Shadow of the Tomb Raider played well and felt really good on this controller. Further, sport games and car games could not be faulted as well and all in all, this is a very responsive and comfortable controller. On the Nintendo Switch, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Princess Peach Showtime and Super Mario Bros Wonder performed as well as the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller. Again a great controller!
Final Thoughts?
The GuliKit KK3 MAX Wireless Controller is a very solid controller, especially for its price. If you’re a PC gamer, it’s worth every cent due to the amount of features, performance boosts and more importantly how the controller feels in your hands. It provides a wealth of connectivity options, including Nintendo Switch or mobile, so it’s a worthy accessory to your arsenal. There’s even a “macro” recording feature that allows you to record up to 10 minutes of controller input for those games which require grinding. The Hall Effect triggers are super accurate as well and hopefully we will see an Xbox or PlayStation variant come our way soon.
