Flawless audio

When you think of audio quality, undeniably (for most audio connoisseurs anyway), Bose comes to mind and although they are more expensive than your run of the mill audio devices, there is a reason. And that reason is 60 years of industry audio expertise – so when you use a Bose product you know that you are buying a quality item.

Welcome to the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds for 2024 that are small and comfortable wireless earbuds that pack a punch for their size, including crisp clear and even loud audio.

The current RRP is $289AUD (October 2024) and once you Bose, there’s seriously no turning back and I’m still waiting on its competitors to throw down their gauntlets. Apple, Samsung are great, however they are smartphone companies by audio connoisseurs!

Unboxing Gallery

As you can see from the above images, the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds channels that premium design but more importantly they look great from an aesthetic point of view and they feel very sturdy. The charging case is great as well (a little on the larger side), including LEDs to indicate charging levels.

They are also available in three colours that include black, chilled lilac and white smoke (reviewed), including a fit kit to ensure the best fit into your ears and the “factory” load out worked perfectly for me, without any adjustments. So, for me, they were a very comfortable fit and they didn’t move when I was at the gym or using the treadmill.

Although the earbuds work straight out of the box in connecting them to your smartphone, if you want to maximise your Bose audio experience, you do need to install the Bose QCE app which also includes a tutorial for ear fitting…

The app gives you access to the customisable five-band equalizer in order to fine-tune the earbuds. Gamers will also appreciate the low-latency mode for gaming.

Once I paired the earbuds with my Google Pixel 9, the connection was super solid with no dropouts whatsoever.

Additionally, the audio quality was crystal clear and artists such as Sabrina Carpenter, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish and James Blunt sounded phenomenal on the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds with excellent levels. Other genres such as metal and orchestral also sounded fantastic as well – it was like having my own personal concert inside my head.

Given the size of the earbuds, Bose should also be commanded on the excellent bass as well and without loss of clarity.

Further, the ANC cannot be faulted and once activated, the earbuds did a fantastic job of greatly reducing background audio, particularly the overloud music blaring at my gym. Depending on the environments where you are using this product, there is also a transparency mode that still plays the audio through the earbuds but it allows you to hear more around you.

For phone calls or Internet chats, the device has tri-microphones to assist with noise cancelling when you are talking to another person. This feature does work quite well and whether I was in a noisy shopping centre or at the gym, it blocked out the background sound well.

What about control? Control, control, you must learn control!

#: Star Wars reference and yes, not the correct Bose audio devices but AI can only do so much at present!

The touch controls are well placed but it will take you a few days or a week to master, so your mileage may vary initially. The earbuds can also detect when you put them in your ear and take them out which is super handy as it pauses your audio.

Speaking of AI and just like Hey Google, Bose have implemented a Hey Headphones (smart assistant feature) that allows you to use voice commands to control the earbuds. This includes skipping track, controlling volume, taking calls and enabling other features of the earbuds… even taking a selfie! In order to use this feature, you do need to calibrate your voice for the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds to recognise you.

Final Thoughts?

The Bose QuietComfort Earbuds for 2024 provide some impressive features for users from its high-quality audio, active noise cancellation and clever voice activated features, even though I got a few strange looks from people at the gym. However, for music, streaming, gaming and listening to podcasts, the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds truly cannot be faulted.

Recommended!
