Homegrown Heroes and International Superstars Announced as Fans Gear up for Oz Comic-Con Brisbane and Sydney

With a steady rollout of guest and epic content announcements, Oz Comic-Con promises two spectacular weekends layered with pop culture glory on both Brisbane and Sydney shores. With so much to discover from a bustling showfloor and action-packed schedule, this is the ultimate chance to celebrate and connect with the community all under one roof.

Announcing homegrown heroes Brenton Thwaites (Titans, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) and Teagan Croft (Titans) for both cities, fans will also be able to rub shoulders with legendary voice actors Laila Berzins (Genshin Impact, Fire Emblem Heroes, Batman: The Long Halloween Part 2), Patrick Pedraza (Genshin Impacts, Care Bears, Onyx Equinox, Rescue Heroes) and Zach Aguilar (Genshin Impact, Demon Slayer, Fire Emblem: Three Houses). Those heading to Sydney will also be able to join Giancarlo Esposito (The Mandalorian, Breaking Bad, The Boys, MaXXXine) and John Barrowman (Doctor Who, Torchwood, Arrowverse) for a range of panels, alongside photo and autograph sessions.

Also gracing the lineup is a finely curated selection of local authors, illustrators and cosplayers, who will be on deck for the full weekend meeting fans and offering advice to eager and curious minds. Returning to Oz Comic-Con for the first time since her Global Cosplay Champion win in 2016 is Major Sam Cosplay. Gracing Australian shores for the first time in Sydney is global cosplay powerhouse Sameertikkamasala. Joining Sam and Sameer in both Brisbane and Sydney is everyone’s favourite cursed cosplayer, Rhyleep.

Speaking of cosplay, there is an opportunity to enter one of the most prestigious cosplay contests in Australia, the Australian Championships of Cosplay, which highlights the immense talent and craftsmanship from every stretch of the country. Winners will battle it out in Sydney for the chance to be crowned Australian Champion of Cosplay for 2024.

Have you ever wanted to be in control of a robot that’s fighting another robot? *R2 SCREAM*

The World Champion Robotics team from Robot Rampage will be heading across the pond from New Zealand to join us at Oz Comic-Con Brisbane and Sydney! They’ll be bringing their robot fighting arena to give you a chance to control the battlebots against each other! Experience the robot carnage without the hassle of building your own robot.

For the gamers at heart, Oz Comic-Con is thrilled to be continuing its partnership with the Australian Esports League (AEL), which will be bringing freeplay gaming zones and esports tournaments for some healthy (but very competitive) action. For those who prefer a roll of the dice, the Tabletop Gaming Zone features an impressive library of over 40 different games, providing a chance to revisit a classic or discover something completely new. If TTRPGs are more your speed, local tabletop gaming groups will be in attendance all weekend running learn-to-play sessions.

As for the collectors, Popcultcha will be on site all weekend with lashings of pop culture merchandise ranging from action figures and statues to replica movie props and other items both big and small, perfect for seasoned collectors and newcomers alike. King’s Comics will also be presenting the Comic Book Lounge, offering a cosy retreat away from the busy showfloor to pull up a beanbag and explore titles across an extensive comics and manga library.

For those of you who love anime & performance, returning to Brisbane and Sydney is the Music & Entertainment Stage. A hub for activity all weekend, catch live performances from local singers, dance & performance groups, along with the increasingly popular Lip Sync Battles and Just Dance competitions!

With so much more in store, Oz Comic-Con Brisbane and Sydney promises an unforgettable experience. For more information about the event, guest announcements and to purchase tickets, please visit: https://ozcomiccon.com/
