LOGITECH PRO X 60 LIGHTSPEED Keyboard Review
Summary: The LOGITECH PRO X 60 LIGHTSPEED Keyboard is tiny but packs a speed punch!
4.8
Need 4 Speed!
I feel the need, the need for speed (Peter “Maverick” Mitchell – Top Gun) and indeed you will with the all-new Logitech Pro X 60 Lightspeed gaming keyboard that has not only been designed for speed but also wireless (up to 10 metres) connectivity. It’s also a smaller TKL 60% mechanical keyboard that measures at 29mm (height) x 103mm (width) and 39mm (depth) with a featherweight of just 1.38kg that makes it super portable.
Although the Pro X 60 is super compact, it still comes with the standard keyboard layout, including full-sized keys. The only thing missing is the numpad, arrow keys and function keys. In other words, 40% of keys that most of us don’t need for gaming! In terms of keys, there are 62 in total which will become your best friends on your virtual battlefields. BOOM!
- Pro-inspired 60 percent design
- KEYCONTROL
- LIGHTSYNC RGB lighting
- Onboard lighting profiles
- 6 ft detachable cable
- 1 ms report rate
To assist with the performance of this gaming keyboard, the Pro X 60 comes with GX tactile optical switches to ensure instant key strikes plus an insanely fast 1ms response rate thanks to the included Lightspeed dongle which runs on the 2.4Ghz. Add in a battery life of up 65 hours, Bluetooth connectivity plus USB-C for cabled input (1.6metres), including charging. As a fun fact and similar to Razer, Logitech have designed the Pro X 60 with advice from hundreds of the world’s top eSports athletes.
Unlike some of its competitors, the Logitech Pro X supports customisable RGB backlit keys and even media controls, a game mode switch (disables Windows keys) plus a volume roller – so kudos for Logitech for not cutting any corners. However you do need to install the Logitech G Hub software to fully maximise the RGB features of this keyboard, including its pro-grade customisation options plus Logitech’s KEYCONTROL system which allows every key to be remapped. Macros? Of course!
Oh, the keyboard also comes in three colours, black (traditional), white (modern) and magenta that really makes this keyboard pop thanks to this vibrant colour (it does look cool) and a sturdy carry case to protect it while you game on the move. Keys are high-quality double-shot PBT keycaps which feel great and of course (as mentioned) super responsive with its tiny actuation point.

The dongle can be stored in the case or underneath the keyboard in the small nook
As you can see from the above images, the Logitech Pro X 60 Lightspeed Keyboard is a well designed combat keyboard with well placed controls (e.g volume control, media keys). Again, I love the magenta colour! It definitely stands out which is the first thing you notice about it. The second aspect you notice is its gamer inspired design that is also super compact. Thankfully it comes with a carry case which is fantastic and not just a cloth bag but rather a hard case.
The keyboard works immediately out of the box via the included dongle, Bluetooth or the USB-C corded connection. Once connected, you need to download the G HUB software which is where the customisation magic is found. In terms of RGB, there are plenty of options to choose, including the ability to make your custom themes and even animations with the lighting. If you have Windows 11, you can also use their dynamic lighting feature but Logitech’s RGB Lightsnyc is far superior in my opinion.
What about gaming? The tactile optical switches feel great and more importantly very fast. Games such as Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, Fornite 2, Overwatch 2 System Shock and Dead Island 2 performed like a dream. Did it improve my gaming? I like to think so but of course, your mileage may vary, however it was super responsive. Wired vs wireless (not Bluetooth)? I honestly couldn’t find any differences but of course, wireless is my preferred option as the cable doesn’t get in the way. I also like the sound of the keys that are relatively quiet that makes it perfect to play at night and with the backlighting, it comes together nicely. Lastly, the keyboard works well for writing and all other typing needs.
Final Thoughts?
The LOGITECH PRO X 60 LIGHTSPEED Keyboard comes at a cost ($399AUD) but offers one of the best compact wireless gaming experiences that I’ve had the gaming pleasure to use. The size is perfect and if you’re into shooters and take your gaming on the go, the Pro X 60 will become your trusted companion and hopefully to victory. Additionally it’s fast, boasts great customisation options, is impressive with its RGB lighting and comes with a nice carry case when you’re travelling the ‘burbs or the world to ensure you have the responsiveness you need when you duke it out in your gaming worlds. Oh… and a 2-year warranty for additional peace of mind, well done Logitech!
