I feel a need, a need for speed – Welcome to the all-new Razer Viper V3 Pro, a new gaming mouse that has been designed for gamers wanting an edge over their competitors. According to Razer, the new Viper V3 Pro is lighter, faster and better than its predecessors which was designed in collaboration with eSports professionals. Supporting both wireless (Razer Hyperspeed) via an included dongle and a wired mode, the Viper V3 Pro is powered by the new Razer Focus Pro 35K Gen-2 optical sensor that offers a DPI from 100 to 35,00, including an 8000Hz polling rate. Impressive hey?

Compared to previous models, there are slight improvements to the shape which feels better in your hand and its large PTFE feet makes it glider better on your desk or mouse mat. The mouse has also been designed for right handers with Claw/Fingertip grip styles with a whopping battery of up to 95 hours (*).

Like other Razer products, the packaging is great and it really channels those high-end aesthetics. In terms of its appearance, the Razer Viper V3 Pro does channel the core of other Razer products which is made evident by the “snake” logo proudly placed on the mouse itself. The exterior is quite smooth but surprisingly there is some sort of textured grip on it as well which is a must have for first person shooters.

Charging is via USB-C that ensures you’re never really out of charge with up to 95-hours of battery life. It should also be noted that the mouse comes with Razer’s HyperPolling Wireless Dongle that allows you to access the high-speeds of this device via wireless connectivity for 8000Hz polling. However at this speed, the battery is reduced to around 18-hours, however more than adequate for 99% of us.

The other difference is the weight with the Razer Viper V3 Pro weighing in at just 55 grams for the white version or 54 grams for the black version which makes this one of the lightest mice around. Buttons are well placed, including a refined scroll wheel and on the bottom of the Viper V3 Pro is the power button and a DPI button. There are also 8 programmable controls via the software.

Although the mouse will connect to your PC, to take full advantage of the Razer Viper V3 Pro, you do need to install the Razer’s Synapse Software which is still one of the best software packages around for tweaking Razer products such as mice, keyboards and RGB lighting – although no lighting on this mouse. The software is fast and more importantly easy to navigate plus tweaking the mouse, creating profiles and other useful real-world options such as calibrating it for your gaming preferences is super easy.

Once setup, I found the Razer Viper V3 Pro a treat to use that not only felt good in my hand but it was super responsive. I trialed the mouse on a variety of games that included Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Starship Troopers Extermination, Payday 3 and Fornite II- all titles performed exceptionally well via its wireless capabilities.

More importantly (and as mentioned) it felt very responsive and good in my hand (very light as well), particularly as the action heated up on these virtual battlefields. Additionally it’s great for everyday Windows use, surfing the net and of course detailed photo manipulation in Adobe Photoshop and the entire Adobe suite actually.

Final Thoughts?

All in all this wireless mouse produced a flawless experience and again it cements Razer as one of the top distributors of gaming devices. With excellent responsive, great software and impressive wireless capabilities, the RAZER VIPER V3 PRO cannot be faulted one iota! Brilliant!
