From author and illustrator Gabriel Evans comes A Friend for George that is about a dog named George who lives by the ocean. Unfortunately for George that while he loves living near the beach, he is sometimes lonely and would love to share his life with someone else.

As we follow George through the well-written text and beautiful illustrations, he eventually meets a fish called Claude where they quickly become friends. Unfortunately after the tides, Claude is gone, so he takes his boat to try and find his friend.

As he explores the ocean, he discovers whales, sharks and other marine life where he eventually finds his friend Claude. While he wants to take Claude home into a fish bowl, he realizes that the ocean is his friends home and more importantly, all of Claude’s friends becomes his friend and he has more friends than he can count. Beautiful!

Final Thoughts?

This book is amazing and the story and illustrations are fantastic that really draw you into the story of George spectacularly. It’s also a book for the entire family, so do yourself a favour and bring A Friend for George home!
