In the Shadow of the Moon

This insightful and majestic documentary has been faithfully pieced together by David Sington who brings together the members of the various Apollo missions to the moon and uses actual footage with engaging documentaries to tell their story.

Even though many of these men are considered modern heroes, Sington gives us an almost earthly approach to this documentary as they bring together their experiences and challenges that they faced.

Ironically, all the Apollo astronauts were former test pilots for the American military who even today are still the only men to have ever worked on the moon. The interviews with the various Apollo astronauts is quite fascinating as they link their experiences with the current political climate of the time with issues such as the Vietnam war.

While some astronauts engulfed their unique experience as an opportunity of a lifetime, others were a little more wary, given the fact that they were a considerable distance from their home planet which only grew their bond between Earth and themselves.

With some amazing video footage, In the Shadow of the Moon is an almost behind the scenes documentary of the risks and rewards that only a few men will ever get to experience.
