Brave Story

I'm not usually an Anime fan as they are often way too stereotyped and clichéd for my liking, however Brave Story somehow hit the spot with me, probably because I've been in a similar circumstance as our young hero.

The tale revolves around Wataru who could be considered "nerd" even though the storyline takes place in a world of Knights and Dragons and when his father runs off, leaving he and his ailing mother behind, his world goes from bad to worse.

Devastated by a series of bad circumstances, he ventures into a strange and haunted building that is the entrance to the world of Vision which is where his fate finally turns around and gives our unlikely hero the choice of changing and making the world a better place to live.

With rewards come great sacrifices and Wataru will make the ultimate sacrifice  as he makes a deal with the Goddess of Fortune for a single wish which is the health of his mother. With an almost sword and sorcery aspect to it, Brave Story contains a great storyline with some interesting supporting cast that truly makes this one of the most enjoyable fantasy movies that I have watched in quite some time.

Featuring  beautiful animation techniques and some great sound sequences, this is the perfect anime DVD for the whole family that may not win any rewards in originality but is good old fashioned fun.

A hero that everybody can relate to!
